Frameworks: The Story So Far

Frameworks was started by two guys who came to the world of workspace afresh; they looked at the industry and promptly realised that businesses were being taken advantage of. For the same cost as renting a three bed flat in Knightsbridge, businesses were faced with the prospect of a cubicle office in a shabby workspace, with none of the fantastic coworking benefits that had been sold to them. The growth of companies like Wework and TOG raised the bar of what workspace could be, but crucially this also meant that costs across the industry had become astronomical, with no one offering decent quality space at remotely fair prices. 


With this in mind Max and Sam started Frameworks - first opening a humble space in the heart of Shoreditch. The early days were tough, with them both being employed simultaneously as Managing Directors, Office Managers, receptionists, cleaners, wallpaper experts, carpet fitters, plumbers, and startup founder relationship counselors. But it worked. In that first space in Shoreditch, an eclectic mix of startups and SMEs made it their home, all seeing the value in what Frameworks had to offer them.  


The business grew from there, quickly launching multiple further sites all across central London, with each space honing what a Frameworks space looked like, how it operated, but crucially sticking to the winning formula of high quality space at extremely affordable prices.


Frameworks’ clients have grown with us - whilst small businesses still make up a portion of our clients, bigger companies have also realised that there’s a better way to do workspace. We are now home to global management consultancies, major political parties, high growth scale-ups and international media agencies. 


For Frameworks, this is just the beginning. Our original hunch about a ‘gap in the market’ has developed into a detailed workspace philosophy, with a meticulous attitude towards our product - how can you manage an entire fitout in-house for a fraction of the cost of subcontracting the work? What proportion of desks-to-breakout-space is optimal for different types of companies? How do you source real estate deals that minimise real estate costs for optimal lease lengths? Whilst neither of the founders get invited to dinner parties any more, as a team we are hell bent on growing Frameworks to be the largest provider of affordable workspace in the UK. Businesses deserve better workspace and shouldn’t be ripped off for it - Frameworks is that silver bullet.
